Booking & Availability

How do I book a photo session?
Contact me via the Contact page or email bookings@rjaymkphoto.com with your preferred session type, date(s), and any special requests. I’ll respond within 24 hours to confirm availability and next steps.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. To secure your date, a non-refundable deposit of $150 (or 25% of the session price for bookings over $600) is required at the time of booking. This retainer is credited toward your final balance.

When do I pay the balance?
The remaining balance is due by the day of your session. For larger packages/events, payment 3 days prior is preferred (details included on your invoice).

Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refunds

What is your cancellation policy?
Your booking deposit is non-refundable if you cancel for any reason.
If you notify me at least 48 hours before your scheduled session, you may reschedule once at no additional charge and your deposit will transfer to the new date.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, your deposit is forfeited and a new booking would require a new deposit.

What if YOU need to cancel?
Should I need to cancel due to illness or emergency, all payments and deposits will be refunded in full, or you may choose to reschedule for a future date.

Session Information

What types of sessions do you offer?

  • Portrait Sessions (Mini, Standard, Deluxe)

  • Proposal & Engagement Shoots (surprise or planned)

  • Event Coverage (all event types, no guest limit)

  • Commercial/Brand work (custom quote)

Where can sessions take place?
Anywhere on O‘ahu. Travel fees vary by zone:

  • West Side — No fee

  • Honolulu/Waikīkī/South Shore — $25

  • Windward/East/Central — $50

  • North Shore/Remote — $75–$125
    Client covers any required site or permit fees (I’ll let you know if this applies).

Do you help with planning?
Yes! I offer guidance for proposing (including surprise planning), engagement, and event logistics, plus creative direction and location recommendations for all sessions.

Pricing, Packages & Add-ons

What’s included with my session?

  • Duration and number of edited images per your selected package

  • Two rounds of gallery revisions (if requested within 14 days of delivery)

  • Standard retouching (see below)

Can I purchase extra edits, RAW files, or rush delivery?

  • Extra edits: $12 each, or 10 for $100

  • Rush gallery delivery: 7-day +$125, 72-hour +$250 (availability dependent—please request at booking)

  • RAW files: $800 for a 1-hour session (pro-rated if less)

  • Premium retouching: $20/image (heavy skin or background work, always with your approval)

Editing & Retouching

What does standard retouching include?
Professional color grading, contrast/exposure, cropping, lens correction, minor blemish fix, subtle skin smoothing, flyaway hair minimization, and distraction removal.

What is premium retouching?
Heavy acne cleanup, substantial background changes (like major crowd removal), or requests that change the style/direction of the edit. Always quoted and approved before beginning.

Delivery & Revisions

How soon do I get my images?
Standard turnaround is within 2 weeks of your session. Rush options are available by request.

How will my images be delivered?
All images are delivered via a private, online Pic-Time gallery—perfect for downloading, sharing, and ordering prints directly.

How do gallery revisions work?
Two consolidated rounds of revisions are included, requested within 14 days. Additional or late revisions: $10/image. Requests that depart from your original booking brief require a new quote.

Events & Coverage

Is there a guest limit or event type restriction?
No! Event coverage has no guest limit (charged by hours covered; minimum 3 hours).

Weather & Rescheduling

What if there’s bad weather?
I offer flexible rescheduling for unsafe weather or unsafe conditions at no penalty.

Payment Methods

What forms of payment are accepted?
Invoices are electronic; payment by credit/debit card and select digital wallets (details at booking).
